community communication workshop

introduction

The Community Communication Workshop (CCW) is defined as an interdisciplinary study of community-wide interaction, and inter-group dynamics. The CCW provides a "living laboratory" that demonstrates practical applications for facilitated discussions; public access to new and traditional media; and the development, organization, and dissemination of community-based goals. Taking the vision of Chattanooga Venture and the Chattanooga Community Link to the next level, the CCW is a logical extension of today's expectations for comprehensive communication, with its primary focus on learning (and applying) the processes of community-wide communication.

setting

Downtown. Open "commons" area with angled desks as centerpiece. Partitioned storefront for public access area. Wired for audio, video, data. Links to cable, Internet. Ability to use space as simultaneous meeting center/broadcast studio/community archive.
